Quotes I need to record

Bosnia
I regret not keeping my blog up to day. I use to record our weekly adventures and quotes of the week but now merely talk about it and occasionally post it on Facebook. I had to record a few of these funny moments before I forget them.

While playing good guy/bad guys with Rowan he says to me "Mom don't go that way it's bootytrapped!"

And then after the girl had the stomach flu he told me he was "sea sick" for moldy cheese.

And then another time he was into placing random things in cups and filling it with water. One of the cups he used is a small travel coffee cup. One night Jaron was getting him ready for bed when he took a big swig of the wrong cup and was "yuck that taste like big water". When Jaron further inspected he had placed a dead roach in the water and who knows how long it had been there.

Now for Noel she is just starting talk clearly so we can understand her. Today she was looking for her water bottle and she said "my water it hide, where is it".

She also has loved wearing all super hero masks and wears them often. Her other favorite thing is playing puppy or kitty. And she loves loves loves stuffed animals.
Now for Ava she has just grown up so much this year. She tells she doesn't want to go to college because she doesn't want to be far from me and Jaron. I reassured she could stay home or close by for collage. She recently got her ears pierced and didn't even cry. One of the funniest conversations I have had with her recently is what she wants to be she she grow up.

Ava: Mom I want to work at a dentists office when I grow up.
Mom: you want to be a dentist?
Ava: No
Mom: you want to be the lady that cleans teeth.
Ava: eww gross no. I want to be the lady that works at the from desk.

Now for Elijah he's just become so smart and so aware of so many wonderful things. I can't think of anything off the top of my head this moment but I hope to keep up with our little corner of life better.

Let there be fire!!!

Let there be FIRE!!! While packing up this morning I found Rowan out on the patio with a fire circle and rubbing two sticks together saying "let there be FIRE!" He was quite the imagination.

Ava and Rowan make me laugh!

Kids say the funniest things!

Ava walking and rhyming along last night said "I'm itchy when I'm bitchy and bitchy when I'm itchy".

While swimming at the hot springs today Rowan said he ha to poop, so we hopped out and ran to the restroom and I said to him "When I hear you have to poop we run...(interrupted by Rowan with a inquisitive look) "you can hear my poop?".

Surreal living!

I thought I would cry like baby when we left Hawaii but I didn't and I am not sure why. Maybe it's all so surreal right now since we are traveling across the U.S. or maybe complete denial. I don't know but I feel like I (we) were blessed to have lived there for 4.5 years. I mean seriously we lived where people dream about coming for just a week vacation their whole lives. Now we are doing and seeing things some people will never see in their whole life time. We aren't able to do every single thing that my heart desires for several reasons. Well one because of time, two because of money and three because our kids are simply to young.

I promised myself to not be bitter on this trip, because towards the end of our time in Hawaii my heart grew bitter because I simply wasn't able to enjoy the island to the fullest because of LIFE! There were kids to care for, toilets to clean, groceries to be buy, and work to be done so I didn't always get to go play.

Our trip today is to just enjoy this beautiful land as much as we can, relish in all the wonderful relationships (family and friends) we have and just be together.

So friends preparing to leave Hawaii it's tough because life else where isn't like island living but life anywhere can be beautiful!

Day 1 Drive 1 San Diego to Monterey

Things I've learned today: (miles 0-435)

1. Not keeping your contact prescription up to date is a bad idea. Tore my last pair before leaving Hawaii and now wearing glasses and sunglasses like a grandma. BLUE BLOCKERS anyone!?!

2. Rowan gets aggressive when restrained too long.

3. Ava needs to know the where, when and how long it's gonna take to get there and needs an update at least every 3-5 minutes.

4. Elijah as long as no one is bothering him he's good to go and actually is acting very mature and helping.

5. All Noel needs is her blanket, thumb and a movie and she is good to go.

6. I never realized how green Hawaii is compared to other places.

7. That CHP instead of pulling every single person over decided he was numbered and just turned on his lights and swerved back and forth over 6 lanes of traffic to slow us all down.

8. There are towns of nothing but cowboys and girls. Seriously, 4 year olds decked out with boots, belt buckles, and hats.

9. Ginger chews are awesome for driving even though Jaron swears they are gross he continues to eat them.

10. I've never had an energy drink and today tasted Jaron 's and it tasted like liquid gummy bears and that folks confirmed I am chewer and not a drinker because my love of the gummy bear is without fail but liquid tasting gummy bears gross.

A weekend of outdoor fun and the Hawaiian life!

The weather seriously had been amazing the last two weekends I hope the trend continues since we only have 3 weekends left on island. We finally hit this easy family friendly hike this weekend. Its called Kamehame Trail and is all paved and very similar in level of difficulty as the Mokapu Lighthouse hike. It isn't shaded so it left us all pretty hot and sweaty but none the less fun. If you do this hike make sure to bring sunscreen and water.

At the start of the trail head Noel thought she was tough enough for this hike, but soon found the hill the defeat her little legs. The other kids great with some whining and complaining of being hot, but honestly if you hit this hike around 8 or it would be a perfect time. Oh so we made it up the road and the pay off was this view. I think what struck me most on this hike was not only the view but the Hawaiian view on Ohana (family). I have several times now been on hikes and ran into big groups of Hawaiian families and friends hiking. Many are out of shape, but still smiling, laughing and cheering one another on. They have always greeted me and my family with large smiles and ahh on how great my little kids are at hiking. They always offer to take a picture and I couldn't be more pleased to have shared this island with many amazing Hawaiians.

The beginning of the trail. Nothing like teaching your kids a little bit about trespassing. Seriously no one takes those signs seriously in Hawaii.

A very determined 18 month old.

The pay off view!

Showing the kids where our house is over by the mountains.

Ava was very brave at the top and well.....

...Elijah was more reserved
Well Noel just hung out with me.

Rowan hitching a ride.
Down the hill we go.

Then today we hit Bellows one more time to body board. I got these two cute photos of the kids. LOVE THEM
Photographing one own children always proves difficult. Elijah refused to smile and Noel was kept running off. The was the best we could get. LOL

A day at Bellows!

We are no officially 4 weeks out from leaving Hawai'i and I keep pep talking myself daily that I do this without crying hysterically. The weather, sickness and just general life has been getting in the way of me enjoying the island and at first I was angry, but I have come to accept we will take whatever we can get at this point. The weather proved to be amazing this weekend and we didn't waste and headed straight to Bellows for some body boarding fun. Elijah can now actually catch waves on his own and loved every minute of it. Ava is getting there, but still really needs some some help. Rowan just loves playing in the shore break and well Noel as you can wanted to try body boarding for herself. We had a great time and hope to make it back at least one more time before leaving this beautiful place.

No real rhyme or reason to the pictures. Enjoy!
